COLONEL BOGEY'S MARCH
The internationally famous song the prisoners whistle in the movie is called "Colonel Bogey's March." It probably is the most recognized whistled tune in the world, although Andy Griffith fans may argue otherwise. Some silly and cliche tourists go so far as to whistle the tune while marching across the bridge. (Watch out for trains -- they cross the river fairly often.)
