Georgia Travel Adapters

Type C & Type F • 230 volts • 50 Hz

Georgia is a country located at the crossroads of Eastern Europe and Western Asia in the Caucasus region. The capital city is Tbilisi. Georgia is known for its mountain landscapes, historic churches and monasteries, and a long cultural tradition that includes one of the world’s oldest wine-making regions.

Georgia uses mains electricity supplied at 230 volts at 50 Hz. Wall outlets use Type C and Type F. Travelers from regions that use different plug types need a travel adapter for Type C or Type F; equipment that is not dual voltage requires an appropriate voltage converter.

Adapter may also be spelled adaptor. Converter may be spelled convertor. Grounded may also be described as earthed.
Georgia uses Type C and Type F outlets nationwide. An adapter rated for Type F will also fit Type C sockets. Type F adapters are also known as Schuko style.

Georgia Travel Adapter FAQ

Do I need a voltage converter for Georgia?

Only if your device isn't dual voltage. Most phones, laptops, and cameras are rated for 100–240V and only need a plug adapter for Georgia's outlets. High-wattage single-voltage appliances, like hair dryers, straighteners, or some CPAP machines, need a voltage converter, not just an adapter. Check the device label for its voltage rating before you travel.

Can I use my US phone charger in Georgia?

Most modern phone and laptop chargers are rated for 100–240V, so they work on Georgia's 230V supply without a separate converter. You'll still need a plug adapter, since the charger's US plug won't physically fit Georgia's outlets.

Are Georgia and US power outlets interchangeable?

No. Georgia uses Type C and Type F outlets and the US uses Type A/B. The plug shapes are different, and Georgia runs at 230V compared to 120V in the US, so a plug adapter alone is only safe for devices that already support both voltages.

Does Georgia use more than one plug type?

Yes. Georgia uses two plug types: Type C, a two round-pin Europlug, and Type F, a grounded Schuko-style plug with two earthing clips. An adapter rated for Type F will also fit Type C sockets, so either one will work throughout the country.
