What Travel Adapter Do I Need for Europe?
Travelers from the USA using Type A or Type B plugs often need a Europe travel adapter or US to Europe travel adapter with two round Type C pins for continental European outlets.
Type C is one of the most widely encountered plug styles in continental Europe and is commonly sold as an adapter for Europe. A plug adapter changes the plug shape only and does not convert voltage.
Type C Europlug Compatibility
The common CEE 7/16 Europlug fits many European-style outlets and is widely used for two-pin, ungrounded chargers and travel devices. The Europlug itself does not provide grounding.
Grounded equipment requires the correct grounded adapter for the destination. Depending on the country, that may be Type E/F, Type G, Type H, Type J, Type K, Type L, Type N, or Type O.
