Italy uses Type C, Type F, and Type L plugs. The grounded Type L plug has three round pins arranged in a straight line.

Will a European Type C Plug Work in a Type L Outlet?
Yes. The common European two-pin plug is called Type C. Type C plugs fit the 10A Type L outlet used in Italy and many Italian combination outlets. Because Type C has only two pins, it does not provide grounding.
