Beerenberg's only confirmed eruption in recorded history, in September and October 1970, opened a roughly 6-kilometer fissure and added more than 4 square kilometers of new land to the island's coastline, according to the Norwegian Polar Institute. More than half of that new land was eroded away by the sea within just a few years.
Jan Mayen is a remote volcanic island in the Arctic Ocean administered by Norway. The island lies between Greenland and mainland Norway and is largely covered by glaciers and rugged terrain. The only permanent presence is a small Norwegian military and meteorological station. The island is dominated by Beerenberg, an active volcano and the northernmost active volcano on Earth.
Jan Mayen uses the same electrical system as Norway, with mains electricity supplied at 230 volts at 50 Hz. Wall outlets use Type C and Type F. Travelers from regions that use different plug types need a travel adapter for Type C or Type F; equipment that is not dual voltage requires an appropriate voltage converter.

Do I need a voltage converter for Jan Mayen?
